WHAT: The Pennington Players' 12th Night Party
WHERE: 14 Oak Place, Princeton, New Jersey 08540
WHEN: Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 6:30pm
All old and new Players and their families are invited to join in the feasting and merrymaking. Wayne Irons and Alan Naidoff will host the party at their home in Princeton, New Jersey.
The party will begin at 6:30 pm. Please bring a delish dish to share (contact Wayne at 609-497-0694 or wayne@royal.net to coordinate the goodies) and a wrapped “white elephant” gift for the infamous Junk game. Here is how the game works.
Everyone should bring one wrapped gift to the party. This should be a “white elephant” gift. This is something around the house you no longer want or need. Past examples have included: scented candles, candy jars, old computers, santa pants and hat, bird houses, etc. Use your imagination. It’s an excellent opportunity to “re-gift.”
We will all gather near the presents with a pair of dice. Each person in turn rolls the dice and if they roll doubles, they get to choose a gift from the pile of gifts. Once the pile of gifts is depleted, you then get to select your gift from someone else. This goes on for 25 minutes and then there is a 5 minute lightning round where we roll and choose as quickly as possible around the room.
At the end of the half hour, everybody opens their gifts and hilarity ensues. The only remaining rule is that if you get something you do not want, you are welcome to trade with someone else, but you must take it home with you. You can always bring it back next year!
